The fitting, prescribing, and annual evaluation of contact lenses is a separate procedure from the comprehensive eye examination performed by either an optometrist or ophthalmologist at Lexington Eye Associates. Since these visits require two separate professional services, there will be two professional fees that may be handled differently by insurance policies.
All contact lens visits are fee for service. Most insurance companies do not cover cosmetic contact lens costs. We will be happy to provide a letter of medical necessity (e.g. keratoconus, aniridia, aphakia, anisometropia, amblyopia) and any records needed.
Visit Fees do not include price of the lenses.
